Protivpožarni ventili tipa FV-K90 i FVZ-K30 su konstruisani za upotrebu u sistemima klimatizacije i osim protivpožarne funkcije imaju i funkciju ventilacije. Mogu upotrebiti kako za dovodni tako i za otpadni vazduh. Protok vazduha se može podesiti pomoću regulatora sa dve pozicije. Ventili se fiksiraju u zid bajonetskim pričvršćivanjem, a specijalnim sistemom zabravljivanja se sprečava slučajno okidanje.
Ako temperatura vazduha koja prolazi kroz ventil pređe 72 °C, delovi topljivog elementa i centralni disk ventila iskaču u svoju zatvorenu poziciju, pri čemuse mehanički zatvaraju. Za potrebe održavanja ventil se lako može skinuti bez upotrebe alata, tako štose okrene nalevo izvan sistema za zabravljivanje (koji pruža mali otpor).
Kontrolu koju prema nemačkom zakonu moraju da vrše nezavisne organizacije, izvršila je institucija FMPA iz Baden Virtemberga.
